FAQ

Common questions.

Everything you need to know about buying and selling beats on Hasta Haus. Can't find your answer? Contact us.

Is it free to browse and watch auctions? +
Yes. Browsing the live auction feed, watching bid activity, and previewing beats is completely free and requires no account. You only need to create a free account when you want to place a bid.
How do I place a bid? +
Create a free buyer account, add a card on file, and enter your bid amount on any active auction page. Each bid must beat the current highest bid by at least the $20 CAD minimum increment. There's no deposit and no hold — your card is only charged if you win.
Is there a deposit or hold to bid? +
No. Hasta Haus never places a deposit or hold on your card for bidding. You add a card on file to bid, but it's only charged if you win. Bids are binding, though — if the bids above yours fall through, your card is charged at your own bid amount, so only bid what you're prepared to pay.
What happens when I win an auction? +
Your card is automatically charged your winning bid plus the 5% platform fee. (If a winning charge declines, the sale automatically passes to the next-highest bidder.) The full beat file — MP3 or WAV, the format the producer set at listing — is released to your account instantly, and a license certificate is issued automatically. The auction's verification ID transfers to you as proof of ownership.
What is the 5% platform fee? +
The 5% platform fee is charged to the buyer on top of the winning bid amount. It covers platform operations and ensures producers receive 100% of their winning bid. The fee is always shown clearly before you confirm your final bid.
What license do I get when I win? +
You receive the license type the producer selected at listing — either Exclusive or Non-Exclusive. An Exclusive license gives you sole commercial use rights and removes the beat from the market permanently. A Non-Exclusive license gives you commercial use rights while the producer retains the right to license the same beat to others. Full details are in our Beat Licensing Terms.
Can I get a refund? +
All sales are final. Because delivery is automatic the moment payment clears, refunds are only issued if the delivered file fails to download, is corrupt, or is materially different from the preview. Submit refund requests to legal@hastahaus.com within 14 days of the issue.
Is my payment information secure? +
Yes. All payments are processed by Stripe, which is PCI DSS Level 1 certified — the highest level of payment security certification. Hasta Haus never sees, stores, or has access to your card number, CVV, or any payment details.
How do I verify a license I purchased? +
Every auction has a verification ID — created when the producer lists it and transferred to you when you win. It's included in your license certificate, and you can verify any license at any time at hastahaus.com/verify — no account required. This record is permanent and publicly accessible.
What if my beat file won't download or won't open? +
Delivery is automatic and instant the moment your payment clears, so there's nothing to wait on. If the file fails to download or won't open, contact us at legal@hastahaus.com and we'll investigate. Verified delivery failures are eligible for a full refund processed within 14 business days.
How much does a producer account cost? +
A producer account costs $12 CAD per month with unlimited auction listings. Cancel anytime — no contracts or lock-in periods. Access continues until the end of your current billing period after cancellation.
How much of my sale do I keep? +
100% of the winning bid goes to you. The 5% platform fee is charged to the buyer on top of your winning bid — we never take a cut of your earnings. Your subscription is separate and fixed at $12/month CAD regardless of how many beats you sell or at what price.
Can I set a minimum price for my beat? +
Yes. You can set any starting bid you want at the time of listing. The platform minimum is $12 CAD — set it higher and that starting bid acts as your reserve. If you leave it at $12 CAD the market decides what your beat is worth through competitive bidding.
How long do auctions run? +
You choose the duration at the time of listing. Public auctions run 24, 48, or 72 hours; private auctions run 3, 7, or 10 days. The duration is fixed once the auction goes live and cannot be changed. Your auction starts immediately upon posting.
Can I take down an active auction? +
No. Once an auction is live it runs to completion — this is by design. Bids are binding commitments the moment they're placed, and pulling an auction would unfairly disrupt them. If your auction ends without a winner, it will appear as Ended in your dashboard and you can relist it immediately with updated details — title, price, duration, or new audio files — at no extra cost.
What happens if no one bids on my beat? +
If an auction closes with zero bids it expires with no obligation on either side. You can relist the beat as many times as you want at no extra cost — your subscription covers unlimited listings.
How do I get paid? +
Payouts are processed through Stripe Connect directly to your connected bank account. You must complete Stripe's identity verification process before receiving your first payout. If a winning bidder's card declines, the sale automatically cascades to the next-highest bidder until a charge clears — so a failed payment doesn't cost you the sale. Payout timing follows Stripe's standard processing schedule, typically 2 to 7 business days after a completed auction.
Can I list the same beat on other platforms? +
You may list a beat on other platforms before it sells on Hasta Haus. However once an Exclusive auction closes and payment is completed you must immediately remove the beat from all other platforms. Listing an Exclusive beat elsewhere after it has sold on Hasta Haus is a violation of our Terms of Service and the buyer's license.
Do I need to clear my samples before listing? +
Yes. By listing a beat on Hasta Haus you warrant that all samples, loops, and interpolations are fully cleared and licensed for commercial use. Listing a beat with uncleared samples is a violation of our Terms of Service and makes you solely liable for any resulting copyright claims. See our Beat Licensing Terms for full details.
What file formats are accepted for upload? +
Beat files must be WAV format at minimum 24-bit 44.1kHz, or MP3 at minimum 320kbps. Preview files follow the same format requirements. The preview is what buyers hear during the auction — the full file is released to the winner automatically the moment payment clears.
Can I get a free producer account? +
Hasta Haus occasionally grants complimentary producer accounts to established producers for promotional purposes. If you're interested contact us at hello@hastahaus.com with your producer name and links to your work.
